I had SO much fun working with the de Jong family again, and we had a wonderful time capturing some Christmas family photos at their beautiful home! One of my favorite parts of doing family photos is capturing a sibling photo of the kids as well as individual headshots of each child. As most of you know, siblings are different and each child has their own unique personality! Some kids are more agreeable, some are more reserved, and some are super silly! I had such a wonderful time capturing fall photos for the Cheely family again! We documented these sweet memories at their home and had SO much fun laughing, dancing, and playing with BUBBLES! :) This dad was an AMAZING bubble blower and seriously was a master at creating some epic-sized bubbles. One of my favorite moments from this shoot was capturing their older daughter popping one of the bubbles with her face—her joyful expression was priceless! I truly believe having fun during your photo shoot is key to getting AWESOME pictures. It’s important for kids AND parents to have fun because you truly will elicit more genuine smiles and laughs! :) Enjoy some of my favorite highlights from this beautiful family session below!

First birthdays are such a special milestone! Last month I had the honor of photographing the Daniels family again, and it was EXACTLY on Baby H’s first birthday! We had SO much fun capturing lots of snuggles and smiles, and there were so many cute moments. I love how Baby H would start laughing when his dad, Mitch, would start making a deep, hearty laugh (that’s how we got a lot of these smiles!). I also loved capturing photos of Baby H waving his hand to say hi or bye! I remember my niece doing the same thing around this age, and it’s seriously the CUTEST thing! We also incorporated the blue sweater that Kirah knitted, and also included his stuffed Hobbes in the shoot (you may recall seeing them at their maternity shoot and newborn shoot). I love it when families incorporate special items into the shoot! It makes the photos even more meaningful.
