At Home with the Ghia Family | Durham Family Photographer

Capturing photos at home is one of my favorite places to photograph! Not only is it familiar, comfortable, and relaxing for kids and parents, but incredibly meaningful. I had the honor of documenting fall portraits for the Ghia family, and we had SO much fun photographing around their beautiful home! It was also a very special session because we included their sweet grandmother, Nani, which is the term used to call the maternal grandmother in Hindi.

There were so many sweet and fun moments during the shoot. One of my favorite moments was when the youngest child was giving high-fives to everyone! Another was when I had the kids hug their grandmother, and the laughter and joy in the photo was priceless. My very favorite was at the end of our shoot when I had everyone holding hands and walking, and swinging the youngest child! His face was just pure JOY, and I loved how his siblings were cheering him on! :) See more highlights from this amazing family session below!

The Prenshaw Family is Growing | Durham Family Photographer

I had the honor of photographing the Prenshaw family again, and it was such a JOY to capture their growing family! :) We captured their Christmas photos at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham, and it is a wonderful place if you want to capture the holiday season! Their daughter LOVED to jump as well as swing while holding onto her parents’ hands, and it was so precious to capture those fun moments! My favorite moment was capturing their daughter and her stuffed animal, Monkey! Honestly, I think it’s totally OK having a child’s favorite stuffed animal to be part of the shoot—it helps them feel more at ease and comfortable during a shoot (plus, you get some great smiles!). See more adorable, sweet, and joyful photos of this wonderful family below! Can’t wait for Baby Girl #2 to join the family in February! :)

Fall Family Session at Duke | Durham Family Photographer

I had such a great time capturing family photos for the Berreth family! We captured their fall photos at Duke University, and the weather was so beautiful and crisp! Duke has a lot of natural backdrops and pathways around campus, so if you’re looking for a pretty photography location in Durham, definitely consider Duke! One of my favorite moments from the shoot was capturing their daughter wearing a kimono, which was her mom’s when she was a kid! She showed me a picture of her wearing it when she was two years old, and thought it would be special to capture her daughter wearing it when she was two. It was so sweet and special, and the kimono was in such great condition! Enjoy seeing more highlights from this family session below!
